Accessibility: how persons with disabilities face the digital divide in telework, eLearning and Telecare

The event will focus on the importance of developing accessible and inclusive technologies in Telework, eLearning and online care services for everyone and raising awareness among European key actors (policy makers, technology persons with disabilities).

Two panels will showcase the main challenges and opportunities of the digital divide and skills for accessibility, how the digital transition can empower accessible technology, and a third panel will share good practices in accessibility and inclusive telework, eLearning and Telecare.

During the event, the main results of the work carried out in the  ACCESSIBILITECH project will be also presented.

The event will have the participation of Inmaculada Placiencia Porrero, senior expert in Disability and Inclusion in the General Directorate of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission.

About ACCESSIBILITECH

ACCESSIBLITECH is a European project, led by Fundación ONCE, which is developing a map of accessible and inclusive technological solutions, at European level, and a methodology to evaluate technologies that have the potential to improve the quality of life and experience of people with disabilities in the areas of teleworking, eLearning and telecare.

It is being developed with partners Inserta Innovacion, DIGITALEUROPE and EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for People with Disabilities), in collaboration with EDF (European Disability Forum), SEE (Social Economy Europe) and  Philea (European Philanthropy Association).
